Hyslip Excavation is a site prep and concrete contractor based in Jacksonville, Arkansas. We clear lots, cut and fill building pads, rough and finish grade, trench for utilities, tear out old structures, build ponds and pour concrete. Most of our work is for custom and spec home builders, general contractors and property managers. We take on homeowner and landowner jobs too.

Dirt work and concrete with one contractor means one schedule and one phone call. On spec homes, we've built the pad, dug the footings and poured the slab in the same day. When you call, Zach picks up.

Services

Demolition

Houses, garages, barns, outbuildings and old concrete torn out and hauled off. We pull permits where required and get utilities disconnected before we start.

Pond Repair/Construction

New farm, fishing and retention ponds, plus levee repair, silt removal and deepening on old ones. We walk every site and check the soil before we dig.

Excavation & Site Preparation

Building pads, foundation and basement digs, backfill and compaction. Cut and filled to the grades on your plans and compacted in lifts.

Land Clearing

Lots and acreage cleared so you can build, farm or develop. Trees, brush and stumps hauled off, piled, or burned on site where it's allowed.

Trenching

Water, sewer, gas, electrical and storm lines trenched to depth and backfilled in lifts. We call 811 before every dig.

Grading & Drainage Solutions

Rough grading, laser finish grading and slope correction. French drains and culverts when a regrade alone won't move the water.

Concrete

Footings, slabs, driveways, sidewalks and shop floors. On block foundations we dig and pour the footings, fill the cells after the block layer, and pour the slab.

How a Job Runs

1. Call or text. Send a few photos and a rough size, like a 20x30 pad or a backyard that holds water along the fence. Most of the time Zach can give you a ballpark before anyone drives out.

2. Site visit. We walk the property with you, look at access, soil and drainage, and tell you what it needs.

3. Estimate. Most estimates are ready in 24 to 48 hours, with the scope spelled out.

4. 811 and permits. We call 811 before every dig and pull permits where they're required.

5. The work. You get progress photos while we're on site. We protect driveways, flag sprinklers and clean up before we leave.

Licensed, Insured and Bonded

Hyslip Excavation holds an Arkansas commercial contractor's license and carries general liability and workers' comp. We're bonded with the State of Arkansas. Zach started the company in 2024 after about seven years in the field, including time as a finish operator, and he runs the jobs himself.
